lead team

cliff jordan

Lead Pastor
Cliff and April have been married for 6 years and have two beautiful children named Walker and Ashlyn. They have served together in multiple ministry settings but have never felt more in line with what they were created for than they do right now planting Movement Church. Cliff has a passion for the Word, both in communicating it for life change and also for digging into it for personal growth. His desire is to help people become all that God has created them to be and to unleash them to fulfill their God-given dreams and passions. Cliff is not interested in preaching about a religion full of rules but he is passionate about preaching  a relationship with God through Jesus that leads to freedom.

robby christmas

Community Pastor
Robby and Joanna have been married for four years and have experienced God’s grace in many ways.  The main blessing in their lives is the experience of salvation through Jesus Christ, and the five years they have spent in full time ministry sharing this experience with others. They are also blessed with a son named Trey, a daughter Mary Grace, and a home to raise their children and minister to others. They believe God is actively moving in Richmond, VA with a vision for His glory to be ultimate in this city. They are humbled and honored to be here and to be a part of that movement.

the story and heart of movement

The vision of Movement Church was birthed in Cliff and April 2 years ago during a season of seeking God's next step for them, praying to catch His vision and questioning the way church had been done and dreaming of how it could be different in the future. Out of this context God began to inspire a vision for a new church. After wrestling with that vision for some time the next step was to seek out where this church would be planted. They had many places in mind but God had one place for them, Richmond VA. This was confirmed through prayer, the Word, people, and circumstances. They are convinced God has called them for this particular work in this particular time and in this particular place.  READ MORE>>

mission

Our mission is to lead people to Christ and to connect them to the movement of God in their lives, in their city and the world.

values

Relational Depth

We were created to relationally connect to God and others. We desire a deepening relationship with God as a result a deepening relationship with each other. Jesus knows the condition of our souls and loves us in spite of that condition and we want to know and love each other the same way.

Generosity

We are a blessed people and we will be held accountable to all that God has given us as to what we do with those blessings. We want our community to be generous with all that God has given us, our TIME, TREASURE, TALENT, and TRUTH.

Creativity

Creativity is not just a buzz word for us, rather a philosophy of ministry emerging out of theology. In the beginning created and we were created in His image thus we are little creator’s. We take our cues from the Creator and value creativity in all we do.

Simplicity

We want simplicity to be the rhythm of our community. This means we want to simplify our ministries, monies and our way of life.

City

We exist for the betterment of our city. Our desire is that our city is better off because of our church. The Gospel can and should transform where it is unleashed. We want to move beyond simply being concerned and move to action.

Biblical Authority

Everything we do is shaped by Scripture. We want to move beyond just preaching the Word to equipping our people to study and apply the Word for themselves. Our goal is to show how the Word is relevant to all we do.
