Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of the Movement Kids Team is to create an environment where children learn to place their hope in God, develop a passion for His Word, and a desire to live like Jesus. We desire to partner with parents in discipling their children as they grow in their knowledge of and walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.

MKids Impact Statement

The Movement Kids Team exists in order to walk alongside parents in guiding their children towards a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The teachers who make up this team are provided the opportunity and responsibility to nurture each child in developing relationships with God, with other children, and with the church. Through a variety of teaching and learning activities, children are able to develop a love for God’s Word, learn to serve others, and to apply the truth of Scripture to their lives.

The focus of the MKids ministry is all children from birth until they finish fifth grade.  Each week, every child from babies through our oldest child, will be engaged in truths from Scripture, age appropriate songs, and activities that will help children to learn of the person of Jesus.  We are currently using the Explore the Bible curriculum from Lifeway.

The children are grouped according to age with small teacher to students ratios.  When you arrive, come to the MKids check in table and you will be asked to fill out a registration slip for your children.  You will be asked for a cell phone number in case we need to get in touch with you during the service. Then you will be accompanied to your child’s classroom and introduced to the teachers.

Our classes are labeled by different places in the world.  Our youngest children are in the Patterson room, then they move to the RVA room, then VA, and so on until they reach the “countries” of the world.  In age appropriate ways, we strive to help our children “broaden their worldview” of God’s world and all the people for whom He sent His Son.
