Our community groups are best described as, “A Christ-centered community who disciple each other to become more like Him”. Each week groups gather together in homes that are welcoming and provide a unique sense of fellowship around a meal. Time is spent seeking God through his Word and prayer as the joys and challenges of life are shared with each other. As we are drawn closer to Christ and begin to reorient our lives around his life and mission, we look for ways to demonstrate and proclaim the gospel through serving others in our city. Discipleship, community, and mission all come together at a Movement church community group.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A typical group will begin their time sharing a meal and conversation that continues to build relationships and community. The group then transitions into a time of Bible study and discussion that includes how to apply biblical truth into everyday life. Prayer is woven into the community experience in a variety of ways that many times leads to group members ministering to one another. Each group determines what type of childcare best fits their group based upon age of children and the space of the host home. Most community group gatherings are 2 hours in duration.
